For the UK, LG has announced its Optimus (”best”) line of Android smartphones. The Chic and the One are the first 2 (of 10!) entrants under the Optimus name, and both will have Android 2.2 FroYo. More »

Verizon’s lower-end LG Ally (Iron Man 2 phone) is going to compete against T-Mobile’s similar HTC MyTouch 3G Slide. Like the Slide, the Ally has a slide-out QWERTY keypad, Android Eclair 2.1, and the same 600MHz Qualcomm CPU, but the LG sports a much higher-resolution LCD.
