Verizon’s lower-end LG Ally (Iron Man 2 phone) is going to compete against T-Mobile’s similar HTC MyTouch 3G Slide. Like the Slide, the Ally has a slide-out QWERTY keypad, Android Eclair 2.1, and the same 600MHz Qualcomm CPU, but the LG sports a much higher-resolution LCD. LG’s LU2300 just launched in South Korea on Tuesday, but rumors that the same phone is the American “Aloha” has been circulating since early April. Today, BGR claims that one of its “Verizon Wireless guys” is telling the blog that the Aloha, with the same specs as the LU2300, is about to be unveiled. More »

While their names are uninspiring, their capabilities are spectacular. Both have 3.5″ (800×480) LCD displays (NOT AMOLED, as previously stated), 1GHz Snapdragon processors, 5 megapixel cameras, and DMB tuners.
