In my estimation, the prettiest Android smartphone on the planet, the aluminum unibody HTC Legend has passed through the FCC’s procedural and is going to Canadian GSM carriers: either Rogers or Bell Mobility. For Americans, AT&T has scored the Legend. More »


Photographic evidence from MoDaCo informs us that the new HTC Legend and Desire smartphones have been rooted. Although few will want to tinker too much with HTC’s Sense UI and Android 2.1, having root access enables programmers to add and/or remove some elements to their liking, thus tuning their smartphones into fully customized machines. After a lackluster start to the new year, HTC is hoping that a robust Q2 will propel the company to a resurgent finish to 2010. HTC had expected Q1 revenues to be lower than the previous quarter, but with the eagerly anticipated releases of the Desire, the Legend, and other unconfirmed Android smartphones in the spring and down the line, business should be bustling from here onwards. This week, Engadget showed us a trio of clear, high resolution spy-shots of the to be announced (at MWC) HTC Legend. Today, Dutch carrier KPN published its HTC Legend notification page. No price has been set, but predictions are that this aluminum smartphone will be on sale in March. More »
