Google’s new OpenSpot application for Android just made life a whole lot easier by helping you find parking spots. For those of you who drive in a city, remember how hard it is to find a parking space? I can’t drive yet, but trust me, the number of times my dad has had to circle around the neighborhood looking for a free parking space is too many to count (try every Saturday in Flushing, Queens). From Ziggytek: Google co-founder Larry Page accuses Steve Jobs of “rewriting history” when the Apple CEO says that Google followed Apple into the smartphone market. Page insists that Google had been developing phones long before Apple unveiled the iPhone in 2007. Although Google did buy out a small firm called Android a few years prior to the 1st generation iPhone launch, early prototypes of Android shown in late 2007 were reminiscent of BlackBerrys. More »

HTC has recently reported sales for Q2, and let me just say — it’s good being HTC right now. Despite earlier financial forecasts, sales grew 58% year-over-year to 60.5 billion New Taiwan dollars (roughly $1.9 billion) and net income grew 33% year-over-year to NT$8.6 billion (USD $268 million).
