The grapevine buzz is that June 2nd or 16th is the release date, but the prices seem to be accurate. $399.99 hits the sweet spot for most consumers and is very competitive with what is out there currently; however, $150 with a 2-year contract is ridiculous when Best Buy is offering the Motorola Droid for $129.99 and Motorola Devour at $69.99 with new 24-month terms from Verizon. Sprint has announced that the HTC Evo 4G is being packaged with an 8Gb microSD card in the pictured box. While 8 gigs may be insufficient for a select few buyers, most can live with it. At least Sprint has saved you $25 or whatever an 8Gb card goes for. By contrast, Verizon is giving out meager 2Gb cards (which is nearly useless) for a “limited time” with the Droid Incredible.
