The Motorola Milestone (aka Droid) has been in American hands since early winter of last year, but Canadians have been left out in the cold as usual. Although no official date has been set yet, Telus is preparing the Milestone’s launch in Canada, possibly by the Olympics. More »


I was unimpressed with the supposed screen capture HTC’s Supersonic running Android 3.1 on T-Mobile’s network, but these newly released photographs of the actual device have me agog. Some Polish bloke has published a better shot of the Bravo as well, this time with the phone turned on. More »


Hindsight has a way of embarrassing analysts. Take Doug Anmuth (Barclay Capital) who predicted that Google would “move 5 to 6 MILLION Nexus One Handsets in 2010.” Despite the Nexus One’s inability to capture the consumers’ hearts, Google’s first smartphone is still one of the most important in Android history even though it is not an “iPhone killer.” More »


Pundits are suggesting that the Bravo is going to be part of HTC’s unveiling during the Mobile World Conference on February 15th. The Legend is all but officially set to replace HTC’s Hero, while the Bravo is virtually a Nexus One clone. Today, a photo of the smartphone was leaked. More »


On Monday, LG released its InTouch Max GW620 (which is the same Eve out in Canada since fall 2009). Motorola has announced that the first South Korean Android 2.0 smartphone, the Motoroi will be available in February, with a planned American launch one month afterwards. Meanwhile, in February, Gigabyte is going to release its first Android smartphone in Russia. More »


Yet another smashing overseas smartphone, the Acer Liquid was supposed to be the world’s first “Snapdragon” processor device, but its launch had been delayed until last week. The Liquid has quality specs and its black variant is now for sale in the UK, with most of western Europe, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia also getting theirs sometime this year. I question just how well this phone will do since the technically more advanced Nexus One has made barely a ripple. More »
