The Droid X stopped being top secret when Motorola decided to provide controlled leaks all over the place. Today, Verizon confirmed much of the specs and announced that on July 15th, the X will be released for $199.99 with a 2-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. More »

On Thursday, Best Buy will be selling the Motorola Devour for $99.99 with a new 2-year Verizon contract. Meanwhile, the Droid Eris is now free and the Motorola Droid only $99.99, both with new 2-year contracts. At these prices, I would never choose the Devour over the Droid. More »


Here is an obscure one: small, privately owned Saygus unveiled its VPhone, which is the world’s first two-way video calling smartphone, and it packs some pretty good specifications as well –including a 3.5″ (800 x 480) LCD, Marvell PXA310 800MHz CPU, 5 megapixel camera, and a full QWERTY keypad; it even has a modem! At one time, Dell’s Mini 5 was thought to be just another tablet netbook, but last week, it was confirmed to be the world’s largest smartphone. With a 5 inch LCD, the Mini 5 is rumored to be a T-Mobile and an AT&T Android 2.0 (or 2.1 or above) phone that - all options included - could sell for upwards of $1,000. More »

Best Buy is now taking pre-orders for the Motorola Milestone, which is slated to ship on the 18th. You can put a deposit of $50 for the phone today.
