In a cheeky and indirect shot at Apple’s iPhone 4 antenna woes, Samsung has taken out a newspaper advertisement whose text replaces the two “l” letters of the word “hello” with 4 bars, signifying that the Galaxy S‘ reception is trouble free. More »

Since the Android vs. iPhone battle is still going on and neither of the two approves the other as the victor, you can expect a side to tease the other that can cause jealousy. Two days ago, Ziggytek mentioned Steve Jobs, recently announced Apple had posted another record quarter with its significant sale of 8.4 million iPhones (3 million of which are the iPhone 4). You’d probably be pretty impressed by this, right? Good, that’s what most people want you to be too. But what you don’t know, is that most of them have hidden a part. Let’s hear the other side of this story as described on John Batelle’s Searchblog about Google, which will sure open a whole new chapter to this story: More »

When Apple held its press conference to address the iPhone 4’s antenna issues (Antenna Gate), one of the phones singled out by Steve Jobs was the HTC Droid Eris, which can be seen as dropping significant amount of signal when “death-gripped.” HTC has responded. More »

From Ziggytek: Nokia and RIM can deny problems with their phones all that they want, but Apple’s press conference claims on Friday actually have merit. Best of all, though, is that Fring is cross-platform and enables callers using Android, Symbian, or iPhone 4 to chat together. More »

Brian Maupin created a masterpiece of humor and parody with his “iPhone4 vs HTC Evo” cartoon, which has received about 1.4 million YouTube views since its upload a week ago; however, the 25-year-old Kansas City Best Buy worker has been suspended by his employer. More »

From Ziggytek: In a MacWorld “shoot out” that proves smartphone cameras still trail behind dedicated cameras for image quality, the iPhone 4 came out on top with its 5-megapixel lens over notables like the unreleased Motorola Droid X and the HTC Evo 4G, both with 8-megapixel lenses (click the headline picture for an uncompressed 1605×1200 version). From Ziggytek: Nokia is also anticipating a massive hit in its global smartphone market share to Google Android handsets and Apple iPhone. Among the four main American carriers, BlackBerry has slipped from the top spot. Sprint’s top seller is the HTC Evo 4G; T-Mobile’s front-runner is the MyTouch 3G Slide; the Droid Incredible and Motorola Droid are kings of Verizon, and the iPhone 4 is obviously AT&T;’s darling now.
