MobileSyrup has the Rogers branded unit in its hands (likely from a Best Buy employee). The mid-range Samsung Galaxy Spica should be hitting store shelves in a few weeks, but no prices have been published. Based on the Telus Motorola Milestone’s release, I would expect Rogers to sell the Galaxy Spica for well under $600, but who knows? More »

The programming geniuses over at OpenEclair have come a long way since the first version of its open source Eclair 2.1 ROM was released on January 28th. Now in build 1.2.2, OpenEclair is generally regarded as the best, fastest (and certainly the most promising) Android 2.1 ROM for the HTC Magic and Dream (myTouch 3G and G1 respectively). This week, Engadget showed us a trio of clear, high resolution spy-shots of the to be announced (at MWC) HTC Legend. Today, Dutch carrier KPN published its HTC Legend notification page. No price has been set, but predictions are that this aluminum smartphone will be on sale in March. More »


HTC’s replacement for the Hero has been shown in quality renderings before, but today, Engadget snapped the Legend in the metal. Supposedly, the Legend will run Android 2.1 and be blessed with an AMOLED display. More »


Motorola’s rumored MOTOSPLIT has surfaced again with a fresh rendering of its highly flexible QWERTY, touch sensitive keypad, which has a monochrome LCD underneath the customizable keys. More »
