Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen misspoke during a Fox interview when he said that Flash 10.1 would not be available until the second half of this year. What he meant was that new hardware with 10.1 installed would not be out before Q3 2010. Adobe has clarified the misunderstanding by stating that the plug-in itself will arrive for download prior to the second half of this year. More »

Fox Business‘ interview with Shantanu Narayen, Adobe President and Chief, has revealed (6:35) that Flash 10.1 is on pace for a full release during the second half of this year for Android, RIM, and WebOS. Adobe’s MWC appearance revealed something big: only smartphones with ARM Cortex-A8 or faster processors will run Flash 10.1 properly. Also, 50Mb of free RAM is required, but all current Android devices have this covered; unfortunately, in North America, only the Nexus One and Motorola Droid have the CPU requirements, so this means that the HTC Magic (myTouch), Dream (G1), Hero, Motorola CLIQ, and other top selling Android phones will not be supported.
