With VAT, Acer’s premiere Stream is listed at around $607 after conversion. The Stream is an enhancement over the excellent Liquid E and includes Bluetooth 3.0, 720p video capture (but no flashlight), 2Gb onboard memory, a customized UI, and a 3.7″ AMOLED display with the same WVGA resolution as the Liquid E. Rogers and Acer have teamed up to break from a painful (to the consumer) tradition, which stipulates that all powerful smartphones must sell for over $500. The Acer Liquid E is a Snapdragon CPU, Android 2.1 Eclair powered unit that has a delicious high-resolution (800×480) 3.5″ LCD and sells for only $424.99 outright or $49.99 with a standard 3-year Canadian contract. In the States, the Nexus One is $529, but getting one in the UK costs around £440 after VAT and other fees. In contrast, the Liquid can be had for as little as £333.70 with VAT. More »

Acer’s Liquid has been a smash hit overseas. With Mobile World Congress (MWC) less than a week away (15th), Acer is gearing to announce a bunch of new smartphones. The E110 is an Android 2.0 unit that is rumored to be shown at MWC. More »
