Broadcom is now at the Mobile World Congress 2012 to introduce its new chipsets that are optimized for smartphones running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The BCM21654G, probably made for budget phones, has a 1GHz CPU, integrated HSPA modem and VGA, while the dual-core chips, BCM28145 and BCM28155, come with HSPA+ modems and they support 720p and 1080p video respectively.

These dual-core chips also feature a third low-power chip called ‘videocore‘ to process video playback without the main CPU. It is also an Image Signal Processor chip that supports up to 42-megapixel camera.
