Some statistics have arrived from the Android Developers website recently, showing the latest Android distribution report regarding the devices that have accessed the Android Market as well as the version of OS they run on. And seems like by January 3rd, the newest Ice Cream Sandwich hasn’t broken through 1%.
Standing at last, Android 4.0, though 4.0.3 takes up only 0.6% of the entire market. With only the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus out in the field, it can easily determine how many of the devices have been sold, which, according to Bryan Bishop of the Verge, around 700,000 Galaxy Nexuses are in people’s hands currently.
Topping the list we have the Gingerbread, which takes up 55.5% of the total market. Though the Gingerbreads may be turned into Ice Cream Sandwiches in the future, there’s going to be at least 6 more months of competition between the two versions. In the meantime, more ICS devices are being shipped and hopefully, can boost up the percentage a little.
