The launch of the Meizu MX in China and Hong Kong on the first day of 2012 as far as the reports and photos say. Apparently, tons of keen customers were waiting in line to grab the Android handset.

In Hong Kong, it was said that at one time, the highest number was one thousand waiting in the queue. Over in Guangzhou, China, it was said that the first in line to get the Meizu MX was the very same person who was the first in line to get Meizu M9 last year. Now that is what you call keen!

With sales starting off this, no wonder the phone has been called an “iPhone killer.”
