Fairly recently, users of Facebook for Android were greeted with a new update that also changed the app to sport a swanky new look and apparently, it seems like the update has worked out well. According to TechCrunch, for the first time ever, there are now more active users on the Android version of Facebook than there are on the iPhone daily.
The Android app for Facebook has 58.3 million active daily users compared to the iPhone app, which has only 57.4 million active users (data via the AppData tracking service). Seems like the Android love is increasing very quickly with Facebook users too.
It’s been said that the Android Facebook app is getting about 550,000 activations per day. Interestingly, the timeline feature from Facebook was also available on the Android app before the iPhone app, which may slightly show that Facebook may be favoring Android with their new updates arriving to it first.
