The tech world has been buzzing about the latest new Galaxy Tab rumor involving Samsung. According to an anonymous source that tipped off BGR, they claim that Samsung is working on a new 11.6-inch screen version that will have a resolution of…2560 x 1600 pixels. That’s right, 2560 x 1600 pixels.

Now it you didn’t know, generally that’s a level of quality that is most commonly associated with 30-inch computer monitors, and even beats out some of the best high-definition TVs. Now realize that Samsung is trying for this on a tablet…yeah. Woah.

So if the rumors are true, this new Galaxy Tab should have a pixel density of 260, a number that is much, much higher than any other comparable device on the market right now. According to the source, they also said that even though the screen is bigger, the tablet itself is going to stay about the same size, with a smaller bezel making up the difference.

As for specs, it’s rumored to be powered by a Exynos dual-core processor that will run at 2 Ghz, Android Beam, which seems to hint that an Ice Cream Sandwich OS could be possible at launch, and even include a wireless media dock that will surely make it a movie powerhouse.

Though take the specs part lightly, since it’s still in rumor status and all. But if this ends up true, my oh my…it’s going to be such a nice tablet.
