The pretty, slim thing you see above is the MX, Meizu’s flagship smartphone that has recently been announced to drop in 2012. Specifically on January 1 of the upcoming new year.

Making an initial debut in mainland China, it’s said that the phone will cost ¥2,999 (about $470 USD) - one pretty penny for a pretty phone.

Though it’s not going to come weakly, it’s packed with an impressive 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. Not to mention that gorgeous 4″ ASV display at a 960×640 pixel ratio. For the launch version that is coming out, it’ll be available with 16GB of internal storage, though a 32GB version is surely going to arrive a little later.

Powered by Android 2.3.5/Gingerbread, it’s not too bad, though CEO Jack Wong revealed earlier that it’s going to be updated to Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich (hopefully sooner than later).

Camera-wise, it offers a nice 8MP rear-facing camera that comes with smile detection and an option for shooting panoramic photos. It also records in 1080p definition too.

Definitely not a bad-looking phone…now let’s hope that it’ll be able to go through a translation session to make a debut in the US. Or…I need to learn Chinese.

This phone is freaking amazing. It makes sense why it is so expensive!! Seriously, sleek and sexy totally describe this phone. I realized, China has pretty cool phones. A friend of mine has a phone she uses that she bought from China and it is so cool man! Would totally rather save the money and time to buy this instead of an iPhone. Oh man.. the camera is so nice and high definition. If this comes out in the US, so want it. I’ll save all I can to get this phone. xD
