Recently, Verizon has reported a released a software update for Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus handset. The Galaxy Nexus is still undergoing internal tests ahead of the public launch. Full details regarding the Android 4.0.2 update are still unclear, however the device was recently believed to have been delayed from initial mid-November launch plans due to a few problems in the device.

GSM variants that were shipped to Europe recently was said to have suffered a glitch that caused the volume rocker to malfunction when the phone was actively communicating on 900MHz bands. The CDMA/LTE variants do not use the same frequency, however the affected handsets were shown to be sensitive to nearby devices transmitting on 900MHz even when the malfunctioning phone’s radio was disabled.

The Galaxy Nexus is expected to launch simultaneously in Canada and the US on December 8. A recent leak suggests Verizon may be preparing to offer the device for $200 with a two-year contract, however it is unclear if the promotion was a Black Friday sale that never came to fruition due to the launch delay.
