Japan residents have been lucky enough to be the sole recipients of Panasonic’s line of smartphones for many years. Though it seems like that may soon change.

It seems as though the company is considering expanding their mobile phone offerings to other countries now, places like Europe, though I would guess that the US would be included as well. Especially considering how those two markets are some of the most high-use places for smartphones in the world.

Currently, reports have Panasonic looking into a European PR agency to handle their first smartphone launch outside of Japan. Though Panasonic has not commented on this news.

However, it has been said that the phones are going to be Android-powered and that they will potentially be arriving as soon as next year.

Considering how cool and ahead-of-the-curve Japan-made phones always seem to be, I’m pretty excited to see what phones will come when Panasonic makes it to the US with their smartphone offerings.
