Soon and at most participating Subway restaurants anyway. Users who love a good $5 footlong and their 4G will soon be able to use Google Wallet to pay for their meal and be able to enjoy it even quicker.

As the first step to being on the way to fully support NFC purchases with Google Wallet, Subway plans to have this new method implemented in their 7,600+ restaurants by April 2012.

Though for now, it seems as though restaurants in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, among others, are going to be the first to try out this new NFC payment method. Many stores in the mention locations have started to receive and install the needed NFC hardware.
