The Lapdock 100 is a new accessory release from Motorola, set to be the solution for users looking for a compatible laptop dock that would be suited to more than one phone.
As Droid Bionic users soon found out, AT&T’s Atrix laptop dock (which was one of its most favorable features) wasn’t able to support it, which is sort of a bummer when you think of how many other webtop phones have come out.
But now, there is the Lapdock 100, which will work with both the Bionic and Atrix and older Motorola phones as well.
With the design, the compatibility factor results in a cable addition that you plug into the side of your phone instead a physical dock that you can set your phone in. Though it’s not too bad, since you still get the important laptop portion.
Arriving with a 10-inch screen, there are also dedicated Android buttons included, taken from previous docks. It also claims to be able to have 5 hours of battery life and users can even connect to the Internet by wi-fi or cable tethering with their smartphone.
AT&T has first dibs to sell, starting October 17. Other carriers will follow later this year.
The only thing left is to wait for a price, since it’s been mysteriously kept secret still…though the release date is just around the corner so it’s not too bad of a wait.
