Well since everybody else is imitating Apple for everything, Microsoft is saying “why not?” Announced at the BUILD conference, it looks like Windows 8 will also have an app store for users to buy/download apps for their tablets. This is only for the Metro UI Windows 8 version, so the “classic” version will have apps you won’t have to buy on the side.

In terms of paying the developers for these apps, Microsoft will be taking 30% of the profit. But of course, since this only applies to apps SOLD on the app store, many developers will promote their apps on other technology websites.

What do you guys think about this idea?
