Research in Motion Ltd. (RIM) is probably seeking some sales boost of its Blackberrys, as it has been reported that their next-gen models might run Android apps through the new QNX software. The QNX phones are expected to be introduced in ‘early’ 2012.

This might help Blackberry phones be more appealing as many customers have been weary of the narrower selection of apps in RIM’s App World, while there are about six times as many apps in the Android Market with more than 250,000 apps.

Blackberry running Android apps means users might have to port the Dalvik virtual machine to QNX, or who knows, maybe RIM will indeed emulate a full Android environment?

What do you think?

Cool! Can’t wait for the new blackberrys! Im sure the sales will increase by a lot because of this

Whoo! I think this upgrade would boost the sales of blackberrys. I actually find blackberrys boring due to its lack of apps but with this...hmmm wink

I didn’t understand the second to the last paragraph as well. XD

Well, I also think this is pretty good news. Hehe.
