Motorola have promised that the future handsets that released will feature the unlockable bootloaders out of the box. There are hopes that the new Photon 4G will be counted among these but the hopes are over since they are not having this feature.

Motorola have issued a statement which reaffirms their intentions to deploy the software more open to development on Android smart phones later this year but it won’t be on the Photon 4G. This is the latest in a string of attempts to crate better relations between the underground Android development scene and the mainstream manufacturing partners.

Most of the major handset makers have already become committed to making things a bit easier by providing the unlocked bootloaders and other features, yet only a few have actually done so. Samsung’s recent gesture of sending the Galaxy S II to one of CyangonMod’s developers is one of the few cases where the manufacturer has pushed the product further with custom software.

Maybe people still have hope that an unlockable bootloader could come as part of a future software, but we will have to wait and find out in the future.
