The HTC Thunderbolt now has its very own, specially manufactured, inductive-charging backplate. This new backplate will definitely help improve the battery life of the device.

When the backplate is snapped to the device, the smartphone can just rest on a charging mat. However, after being seen on Verizon Wireless’s online shop for $39, it was quickly removed. Many are still waiting for an official announcement on the charging backplate. This backplate sounds like it would be perfect with the HTC Thunderbolt as it has such a low battery life with its high power.
