I really do wonder how information on new products and services get leaked sometimes. Oh well. You might be happy to know that the release for the Droid X2 has been leaked! First, word was going around that this phone would be released on Verizon Wireless on May 13. The Droid Charge was delayed so it hasn’t come out yet. According to a newly leaked document, May 26th is the date for release now.
According to Droid Life, besides this Tegra 2-powered device being unleashed on May 26, everyone who pre-orders should start buying it on May 19. If what the documents claim are true, the Droid X2 should be up for pre-order in the next few days to come.
This new phone will be a 4.3-inch slate that looks similar to the first Droid X, but the Droid X2 will have a qHD screen (960×540 resolution) and pack a dual-core Tegra 2 clocked at 1 GHz. Customers also receive an 8MP rear-facing camera capable of 720p, and and HDMI port to output up to 1080p. One downside: there is no front-facing camera. That being said, the phone will be running on Gingerbread, but you can’t expect to get much out of Google Talk with video.
Pricing and more in depth info have not come out yet, but is anyone looking forward to the Droid X2?
