Verizon recently announced an upcoming Android 2.2.2 update for the LG Ally. The update will include the ability to use the keyboard to dial # and * in landscape mode and improvements to SMS, email, iheartradio and Car Home apps.
However, before you can update your device, it is required to download an upgrade utility app from the Android Market. This is different from previous OTA updates, but this one should work fine as well. It looks like the update is a big one and will change a lot with its many improvements.
