Reborn NFL quarterback star Michael Vick has been in the news regarding dog fighting. But this time, it’s to voice his criticisms against a new Android app named “Dog Wars”.
Vick, who spent time behind bars because of illegal dog fighting, wants to see this “Dog Wars” app banned. The creators, however, say it’s created to educate users on animal cruelty and proceeds will go directly to these animal shelters and Japanese tsunami relief effort (how does animal cruelty and tsunami relief effort tie in together, though).
In a statement released by the football star, he said, “I’ve come to learn the hard way that dog-fighting is a dead-end street. Now, I am on the right side of this issue, and I think it’s important to send the smart message to kids, and not glorify this form of animal cruelty, even in an Android app.” Even the police agree with Vick on this one, saying that the game will only cause the wrong message to be sent out.
When the description says “Raise your dog to beat the best” and you earn virtual cash and street cred, you might want to re-think your “motives”.
