Seems like Google just can’t catch a break. The company was able to acquire ITA software but not before many competitors cried foul and complained and complained. The Department of Justice, though, gave Google its blessings. Now, it faces a new problem.

South Korea’s search portal Daum, amongst others, alleged that Google was preventing fair competition, enabling its Android mobile operating system to make users’ lives (and those search portals) more difficult by prominently featuring Google’s search engines and not allowing easy access for other search engines.

Google responded, letting us known that Android is an open platform and phone carriers can use whatever platform they wish to use.

A Daum spokesperson had this to say, “We filed complaints against Google, arguing that Google used direct and indirect influence over Android-based phone manufacturers to block other search engines or applications from being placed before Google’s search box.”

Maybe Google is just jealous that they don’t have 9 beautiful ladies to promote its search engines.

I hope the issue gets resolved soon. It’s not fair to block other search engines when the majority of people use Daum. I like the SNSD reference LOL. Thanks for sharing!

however it is not fair how they prevented users difficult access to other engines.
