Sprint’s announcement of the HTC EVOLUTION View 4G came a while back, and now HTC has come forward with a press release of their own. It turns out that HTC planned to launch a WiFi-only version of the HTC Flyer in the US.

HTC Flyer was no secret, but it was quite surprising that the US would get it so early. All the same specs will be featured at the GSM version that was unveiled last month at Mobile World Congress, but will lack the 3D radio for data connectivity.

Best Buy have just announced the exclusive launch of the highly-anticipated Wi-Fi only version of the HTC Flyer Tablet. All Besy Buy and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores will have the tablet immediately on the launch date this spring.

Scott Anderson, head of merchandising for Best Buy Mobile, said “Over the past few months we’ve seen several new tablets enter the market, and we’re especially excited to partner with HTC to bring the Wi-Fi version of the HTC Flyer to our customers as a national retail launch exclusive. We have worked hard to bring a large assortment of great tablets to Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, and the HTC Flyer is a great example of that effort”.
