Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 is a great phone, but many were left disappointed when it was released with Android 1.6. With the promise of Android 2.1 on its way, customers had an initiative to purchase the phone, The update has now become available… but not in the US.
What’s worse is that AT&T are no longer stocking the phone (it’s only available refurbished for $0.01 on a two year contract now). This doesn’t mean that the update may not be coming, but it does put a bit of a damper on things for those waiting for the update…
It is Android however, and we all know that if people don’t get what they want, in this case an update, they can always fetch it themselves… If you’re in a position where you cannot do this, it’s up to AT&T and Sony Ericsson what happens now.
