
Information has been circulating on the internet about a Froyo update coming to the Samsung Epic 4G and Sanyo Zio. There’s also a rumored release date of February 21st for this Froyo update that many have been waiting for.
There’s been talk of a Froyo update for the Samsung Epic 4G and Sanyo Zio around the internet. The date of the release that has been rumored is the 21st of February.
Here’s what you can be looking forward to (if it happens):
Software Updates: Samsung Epic (EB13, Froyo) & Sanyo Zio (2.200SP, Froyo)
Effective 2/21/11, software updates will be available for both devices
Over-the-Air (OTA). Both updates will be pushed over a period of days, so
customers will receive them based on their status on the Google servers.

After the update completes, verify the new software version (Menu > Settings
> About Phone)

Customers are required to download (accept) three portions of the update to
receive Froyo 2.2
Customers should use WiFi if possible to complete the update

Enhancements/fixes: upgrade to Froyo 2.2, addition of Swype, Sprint Zone
2.5.5, Sprint ID activation improvements, better battery life
The stats for this possible upgrade seems pretty good and users should be hopeful for the release. Personally, I think Froyo is nice but truly, we need a better upgrade than that. I guess this one can be for those who don’t need the newest Android version.
