Google’s Android team has introduced a clever piece of marketing at the Mobile World Congress. They use game mechanics in real life demonstrating a great example of ‘gamification’.

A growing number of Google Android pins were seen around the place. They featured cute little robot mascots in a range of poses, outfits and designs. There are currently 86 different pins and some people already have over 20 or more on their badges.

These collectibles are not all equal. There are some very rare ones such as the Android-with-a-heart which was only released on Valentine’s Day.

Doireann Gillan reveals, “Our different partners all have different pins, the idea is that if you want to collect them all, you will see all of the companies behind Android.”
