Smartphones tend to require a whole lot of batteries. I know mine does! I have to make sure I charge mine every night before going to class the next day. Conveniently, a new Android smartphone called the Umeox Apollo is the only phone that runs on solar power!

The sad thing about this phone is that no release date has been confirmed yet, so there might not be a possibility of getting released in the US (Nooooo). There will be two models, and they will be able to function in Europe and Asia.

It only needs to bask in the sun for 2.5 hours to get a full, charged battery! How awesome is that? The phone also has 1GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, a 3-megapixel rear camera and an integrated FM radio.

haha that’s a really cool phone! i can just let it sunbathe and i’ll have power! no need for all those electric cords anymore.  hopefully they’ll still work on rainy days xD

wow that’s really cool!! yeah it sucks cause smart phones do run out of battery fast. it sucks to be out when you’re phone is dead.. sucks that this phone might not be released in the us! we’ll see! this would be a really great phone to have though, it’s nice too!

this woould be so convient for me because i hate having to find the cord to plug in my phone to charge it!
i wonder how much it’s going to cost and when it’s going to be released!
