Motorola has announced that their Motoblur software will get several new features at the recent MWC 2011 in Barcelona, such as the Connected Music, Connected Gallery and the Aloqa.

The Connected Music feature allows users to share their music with their friends and also discover new music by following what friends are listening to. It also gives recommendations based on similar tastes and it offers tracks for purchase. Furthermore, it can stream lyrics while songs are playing.

The Connected Gallery feature compiles photos and videos from various social networking sites and photo services into one single application. Users don’t need to separately open Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, and Photobucket to access the albums. There’s also notification feature that will give you updates of new comments on your media and when there are new photos and videos uploaded by others.

Lastly, the optional Aloqa feature is a location-based mobile platform which gives you information about events, places and deals from third-party applications.

These new features will be available as an upgrade for the Atrix 4G and the Cliq 2. Future devices with the upgraded Motoblur feature will come in the coming months.
