Computer World franchise have racked up the stats and have come to a conclusion that Verizon and HTC were the quickest in their cycles. At the top of the list were Verizon, ahead with a third of their devices receiving Android 2.2 within 6 months of the software’s release. Sprint followed behind at almost 30%. And the fact that they were able to deliver upgrades for the HTC EVO 4G certainly did help. More »


We have seen Android blossom with a blink of an eye. It seems like most college students either carry iPhones or Android smartphones (myself included). Now, expanding their horizon, a course about Android development is actually being offered at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Adding a new phone to their smartphone line-up, Alltel recently announced that the LG Axis is available for $89.99 after a $50 rebate and a two-year contract. The phone runs on Android 2.1 and has a 3.2 MP camera. A major feature about this phone is a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, so those who can’t stand texting using a touch screen will be very happy with this phone. More »


Some of you might have heard about this limited edition phone called the Giorgio Armani Samsung Galaxy S. Samsung announced it back in November in Seoul, and now we know where we can get our hands on it now thanks to Phones 4u. Phones 4u will have 800 of it at 100 of their locations in the UK. Remember my blog post about the Samsung S5830? I called it Samsung Mini phone, but it actually has a name. Some of the pictures were leaked, and we weren’t able to determine what this phone was called. However, let me introduce you to the Samsung Galaxy Ace. A quick but addicting game for you to pass the time, 1to50 challenges you to see how fast you can get from 1 to 50. But of course it’s not as easy as it seems, since all the numbers are jumbled to test your vision and reflex skills all at once. More »


To be fair, gaming on Androids have never been taken really seriously. But one company are offering a games-on-demand service. That’s Extent – who will offer access to over 100 titles for a monthly fee via the GameTanium service. Every week, it would be updated with more games. BestBoyZ, German mobile lovers, showed everyone the Nexus S running on Android 2.4. One interesting thing about it is that this version of the Nexus S carried the baseband version (i9023), and this matches the recently FCC-approved Samsung GT-i9023. However, the original Nexus S has the model number of GT-i9020. Not really sure what that means, but we have to dig deeper in order to find out what Samsung has been up to!
