Computer World franchise have racked up the stats and have come to a conclusion that Verizon and HTC were the quickest in their cycles. At the top of the list were Verizon, ahead with a third of their devices receiving Android 2.2 within 6 months of the software’s release. Sprint followed behind at almost 30%. And the fact that they were able to deliver upgrades for the HTC EVO 4G certainly did help.

Phones such as the Samsung Intercept had their days average down to about 100, nearly twice as much. T-Mobile came third, and AT&T followed. In terms of software upgrades, HTC was the best OEM, averaging cycles of 56 days from the time of OS release up until when an update was delivered. Just think of how impressive it is, especially as HTC phones are selling well.

Behind the HTC in that category was the Motorola. Samsung, Dell, Sony and LG all followed afterwards.
