Much attention is being taken up by the World Lens App (”Google Goggles meets Google Translate in Photoshop) that started capturing attention last Friday when it was said that it was heading for the iOS. Its developer, Quest Visual have been asked a big question: will the app head to other operating systems other than iOS?

The answer is yes! Quest Visual replied, “Android, WinPhone7, Palm, Blackberry users, we hear you! Our goal was to get a great first release on one platform. Keep in touch!”

At the moment, only Spanish-English (and vice-versa) are available for the app, but other languages will be added in time. The developer announced, “We’re starting out with European languages and will expand from there. We won’t stop until we get all the way across the globe!”

For those who have already purchased the app, remember that text needs to be clear and in bright light for the app to work effectively. The app is also only designed to read a few words in a given amount of space, e.g. menus and signs and is not designed to translate large amounts of text, e.g. from books.
