All I seem to hear is success story after success story for Android. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise to anybody that Android’s demand for developers have been increasing day by day- so much so that it has increased by a whopping 710% from last year.
oDesk’s report concludes that compared to October 2009, the need for developers has risen by 710% in the month of October 2010. Considering Android’s rising popularity, the fact that is the number one mobile operating system in the US and second in the world, this figure should not really surprise anybody.
oDesk’s marketing and communications manager Erica Benton puts it down to Android needing more specialists who have the ability to develop mobile apps. She said, “The launch of the Android Market, and the easy access to mobile applications it provides to millions of users has made developing for the platform very attractive to businesses of all sizes.”
Even for oDesk about 350 Android-related positions were advertised last year and this figure has doubled only in the month of October 2010.
