The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has been through a bumpy ride having just been upgraded with Android 2.1. There have been complaints about no multi-touch support, but it seems as if Sony Ericsson are looking to remove this problem…

Although it was initially said by Sony Ericsson that they would include multi-touch in a future update, they then said that the X10 did not have either the software or hardware to support it. SE were telling the truth, but after some Android hackers got onto the device, it was found that multi-touch is a viable option on the X10:

Now SE have announced that they are working on “limited multitouch support” for a future software update on the Xperia X10. It is due for early 2011, but do not expect it on the dot. The X12 and Playstation Phone may have been released by that time, but at least X10 users will be kept happy.
