It may be just a rumor but people are speculating that Facebook will be launching its own webmail service (currently known as Project Titan), which will compete with Gmail. If it is true, then that’s the reason why Facebook is holding another “special event.” But nothing is set in stone yet.

I’m a diehard Google and Gmail fan (no that’s not where my username comes from) so I would probably stick to Gmail even if Facebook offers @facebook.com email. What about you?
