Although the EU have been trying to limit roaming fees across the borders of its European members (if you’re looking for an American analogy, imagine paying roaming fees whilst traveling between states) for a while now, progress has been pretty slow. This year we’ve seen some per-minute limits, but that’s about as far as it goes.

The story is different for the Spanish and Portuguese. In a bid to improve trade links between the respectful countries, roaming charges have been abolished. The friendly two can now enjoy communication minus the roaming charge and are one step further towards the goal of making better their inter-country relations.

No real detail are available as of yet which is why we have not heard about any carriers saying anything.

What do you think the chances are of this being rolled out across the rest of the continent?
