Finally, the Android 2.2 Froyo update that the Samsung Galaxy S users have been waiting for has arrived! Samsung gave the official announcement that this update will be available mid-October.
Northern Europe can expect to be the first to get the update, followed by their European neighbours, spreading to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North America, Africa and then last but not least, the rest of the world’s population.
Kies, Samsung’s software for upgrading, will host the Froyo update and this is downloadable via Samsung’s website. So what can users of the update look forward to?
Users will enjoy a range of improvements such as Google Maps with Navigation, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Setup Wizard (for quick customisation of the Galaxy S and easy access to networks), Home Screen / Menu Preview and Edit and a Search in-Browser: Google, Translate, Wikipedia, Dictionary.
