Having heard that the Samsung Galaxy Tab is going to be more expensive than Apple’s iPad, I’m guessing that some of you have lost interest. Will this regain your interest?

The Android-powered tablet due on November 1st will come out with a 7-inch Gorilla Glass display, which will enable the Galaxy Tab to combine the best in mobility and toughness technology.

Its elder sibling, the Samsung Galaxy S (which boasts an AMOLED unlike the Galaxy Tab) also uses Corning’s Gorilla Glass (which is used as protection for all sorts of electronic devices) for quality “scratch and impact-resistant alkali-aluminosilicate” properties — the fact that the glass is environmentally friendly is just a bonus.

Haeng Hee Lee, Corning Korea Company LTD’s president, commented, “We are pleased that consumers recognize the benefits of Corning’s Gorilla glass in their IT products. Consumers are enjoying IT display products with more durability through the application of Corning’s Gorilla glass. We strive to deliver new technologies that help our customers gain a competitive edge in the global market place.”
