August’s data was published by private mobile ad network Millenial Media. This impressive figure for the increase (up by 7% month-to-month) of impressions on Android mobiles since January does not even count tablets, whilst Apple’s iPhone is struggling to even gain popularity in their advertising impressions with their impressions remaining “relatively flat” month-over-month.

The impressions increase works hand in hand with the sale of Android devices, which last month outsold rivals Apple and BlackBerry in the U.S. However, the iPad is the winner for Apple, gaining a 76% increase in request for its advertisements in the past month. Apple also win for the iPhone snatching first place for total advertisement impressions according to Millenial Media as well as being first in September 2009 and being responsible for 19% of total advetisement impressions across the board.

Surely Android will spend more money in advertising as they see their handset sales increase to keep on being competitive. Hopefully they’ll invest more money into their tablets too and maybe we will see their tablets surpassing the impressions of their smartphones.
