According to a recent paper by the University of Pennsylvania, Android users are leaving their passcodes out in the open due to oily fingertip smears. You might want to put down those french fries, right about now, as this study reveals that partial, or even complete, passcode patterns could be retrieved using different lighting and camera orientation settings—even with incidental clothing contact. The Dell Streak, despite being a rather impressive handset in itself, got off to a disappointing start with its belated launch in the US after only receiving the outdated Android 1.6 OS system whereas its UK cousin received the sparkling Android 2.1 OS system. As well as this, the $549 phone was still sim-locked! Paypal is reportedly negotiating with Google to add its payment method onto Android’s app store. Current Android smartphone users can pay their fees either through Google Checkout or via carrier billing (credit card).
