According to Samsung, in a mere month and a half, this phone company sold over a million Android-powered Galaxy S handhelds in the United States. Wowamazoo.
Says President Dale Sohn:
Bringing Galaxy S devices to multiple carriers has given Samsung Mobile the opportunity to reach millions of consumers. I am proud of the instant success of the Galaxy S line up and I am very pleased to announce that because of the support of our carrier partners and loyal customers, we have shipped one million Galaxy S devices in the U.S. market.
Very smart move in selling Galaxy S in different carriers, and in my opinion that’s the main reason why this unit did so well with sales. Of course, the overall amazingness of the handheld must also be accounted for (by the way, watch out for its cousin, Samsung Fascinate, in Verizon stores soon), but either way, a big well-deserved congrats to Samsung here.
