China-based search engine Baidu is currently in talks with several Android handset manufacturers with the idea of featuring their search box widget on Google’s Android phones. China’s mobile phone market is still in its young years, but the Android phone sales are rising as a rocket as each day goes by. Yesterday, the net was buzzing with the leak of T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ smartphone, which was at first believed to be the HTC Vanguard (aka G1 Blaze/Vision); however, the “Vanguard” name has disappeared from the source code on T-Mobile’s web page. Dell has published the prices for two of its most interesting smartphones. The mammoth 5-inch Streak is going to be $299.99 with AT&T contract or $549.99 outright, while the mid-range 3.5-inch Aero will be $99.99 with agreement and a low $299.99 without. The page on which Dell spilled this information has been deleted, but the Aero will definitely launch August 9th. More »


In a leak from T-Mobile itself, the company’s first HSPA+ smartphone has been outed. Although there are no specifics, and the image shown is merely a white and generic silhouette, the source code for the web page has the term “Vanguard,” which is a codename for the HTC Vision/G1 Blaze. More »


Cricket Wireless recently revealed it’s pre-sale page for Kyocera Zio, the carrier’s first Android phone. According to Android and Me, the Kyocera Zio will be released Aug. 15 with a special $55 unlimited rate plan. More »

Verizon is expected to be carrying tablets in the near future, and its close relationship with Motorola leads to speculation that Motorola’s 10-inch tablet could be headed to the CDMA carrier as an opponent for AT&T’s iPad.
