A lot has been written about “Antenna Gate,” some of it from raging fanboys and fangirls who are blind, and some of it from more balanced and level headed perspectives. While HTC, Nokia, RIM, and Samsung vehemently try to disassociate themselves from Apple’s highly publicized iPhone 4 antenna problems, anyone who has done even half an hour of research on the topic will learn that Apple’s claims are mostly true.
Connected to Canada’s most respected network, Rogers, my HTC Magic loses a minimum of 12dBm whenever I cradle it for a few seconds. The signal loss seems to be most significant for me at my house whenever I get good reception. Sometimes, I drop as many as 22dBm, from -79 to -101!
People who still insist that Apple is lying or is exaggerating need to have their heads examined. The evidence is clearly out there.
