ZTE and UK carrier Three have lowered the bar for smartphone pricing with the Racer, which is £99 outright or free with contract.

The Racer’s specs are bottom tier, but it does have the necessities like Android 2.1, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G, and quad-band frequencies. I do not see wireless listed though. The 2.8″ LCD is only 240×320 (same as my two-year-old 2-inch display Ericsson!). A 3-megapixel camera without flash, 256Mb ROM, and a 2Gb microSD card round out the features. A phone like the Racer is what the Microsoft KIN should have been.
